What Afinao does
Set the key, sing, and Afinao pulls every note into place, from smooth, natural tuning to the hard-tune sound. A 3D pitch orb turns and ripples with your voice while it works.
- The first autotune made in Puerto Rico, with Natural, Hard and Robot modes: Retune 0 is fast and smooth, 20 is natural, and Humanize lets long notes breathe
- Works with Key Diver: one click there sets the key on every Afinao in your session
- 11 scales (skip notes or play them in with MIDI), an effects drawer and a 2.5 ms low-latency mode
Who is Iancho
Ian Reyes Alvarez, known as Iancho (also Ianchoso), opened H-17 Studio in Lajas in 2021 to record artists, produce beats and mix songs. Then Ian started designing and coding H-17's own tools: today H-17 Music has 9 plugins made in Puerto Rico, from the sound engine to the interface. That makes Ian one of the first audio plugin developers from Puerto Rico.
Why it matters
The vocal tuners heard on reggaeton and trap records are made by companies outside Puerto Rico. Afinao is the first one designed and coded on the island, by a Puerto Rican producer who works with artists from there.
